A dad who yanked his daughter from her $43,000-per-year Manhattan private school in outrage at the “woke” teaching of critical race theory says other outraged parents are following his example.
Harvey Goldman told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Tuesday night of the support he has been getting after he first revealed to The Post last month that he had pulled his 9-year-old from the Heschel School after finding out she was being taught about her “white privilege.”
“I’ve gotten quite a few calls from parents of the school and they are pulling their kids out,” Goldman said.
“They are not happy about what is being taught to their children.
“I’m not sure what else they could do but teach the school a lesson by pulling their kids out. And getting their money out,” he said.
Goldman had told The Post that he moved his daughter to Florida after finding out she was learning about George Floyd’s murder and Black Lives Matter as well as her own “white privilege” at the swanky school.
“They are teaching these kids terrible things,” he told Carlson. “Teaching them to feel bad about themselves and it is really awful.”
He believes even more parents would follow his example and boycott the schools if they knew “how bad this really is” — and could find alternatives.
“If you are in New York, it’s really difficult to find another place to go because so many schools are teaching this critical race theory,” he complained.
He told Carlson that his daughter was doing “much better” in Florida because “the schools never heard of critical race theory.”
“These children go to a park and they want to play. They don’t care what color the other kids are. They care that they are having fun,” he said.
Heschel School insisted in a statement, however, that Goldman had said he was moving to Florida “for financial reasons.”
“We are a Jewish day school and very proud of our secular and religious curriculum, which Mr. Goldman is fundamentally misrepresenting,” the school said in a statement to Fox News.
“We were surprised to read about his new explanation for the move and question his motives for making such statements at this time.”
